Airport Subcommittee Forwards Recommendation for Mandatory Curfew Application in Bob Hope Airport’s Part 161 Study

BURBANK, Calif., March 5, 2008 — A subcommittee of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority today recommended that the full nine-member Authority Commission consider a draft application seeking FAA approval of a mandatory curfew from 10 p.m. to 6:59 a.m. at Bob Hope Airport. The recommendation also includes scheduling a 45-day comment period, a public workshop, and a public hearing on the Authority’s Draft Part 161 Study and the draft curfew application.

AIRPORT MOURNS PASSING OF

BURBANK, Calif., February 14, 2008 — Dios Marrero, who had served as executive director of Bob Hope Airport since 1999, died at his home February 13th, his family said today. He was 57. He had taken a medical leave of absence in January and had undergone cancer surgery in 2007.

BURBANK, Calif., January 25, 2008 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has appointed former Deputy Executive Director Dan Feger to the position of Interim Executive Director of Bob Hope Airport following the decision of Executive Director Dios Marrero to take a medical leave of absence. Feger’s new title takes effect immediately.

BURBANK, Calif., December 3, 2007 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Bob Hope Airport, has elected Glendale Commissioner Carl Povilaitis to serve as president of the nine-member Airport Authority Commission. Povilaitis succeeds former Glendale Commissioner Bob Yousefian, who resigned from the Authority in November.

BURBANK, Calif., November 12, 2007 – Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority President Bob Yousefian stepped down as president of the Authority Commission at a special meeting of the Authority today. The Authority will go about the process of selecting a new president in December.

The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 1^st and 2^nd in the Airport�s Skyroom overlooking the runway.

Airport to Return to 2002 Rates to Offset Increased Costs,
Balance Use of Airport Lots, and Encourage Alternate Transportation

BURBANK, Calif., February 14, 2006 � Bob Hope Airport will return rates for most Airport parking lots to 2002 levels effective Monday, February 20^th. The rate change will result in increases for three of the four Economy Lots, but Economy Lot A � the Airport�s largest economy parking area � will remain at the current $7.00 daily maximum in a bid to encourage more patrons to park there and relieve pressure on Lots B, C and D, which tend to fill earlier in peak periods.

The passenger count in September was up 20% and there is an 11% increase year-to-date.

BOB HOPE AIRPORT DRAFT NOISE REPORT UNVEILED

Preliminary Version Sent for City Comments, as Outlined in Recent Development Agreement; Final Version Due November 20th

BURBANK, Calif., October 26, 2005 � Consistent with the cooperative measures contained in the Development Agreement with the City of Burbank adopted last February, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has forwarded the City a draft report on the progress made by the airport in reducing or mitigating airport noise. The document prepared by the airport�s legal team is to be submitted to the California Department of Transportation as the airport seeks a new variance from the state airport noise standards.

BURBANK, Calif., August 10, 2004 � The Bob Hope Airport and Southwest Airlines will host a combined bone marrow screening and blood drive on August 27, 2004, in hopes of saving the life of Nick Salazar, who works for Southwest Airlines at the airport. Members of the public are invited to donate blood and/or to volunteer for screening for bone marrow donation.

Salazar was diagnosed with acute leukemia last August. Without a bone marrow transplant, there is little hope that he will survive.

BOB HOPE AIRPORT BEGINS FIRST PRE-SCHOOL INSULATION PROJECT UNDER REVISED NOISE PROGRAM

Burbank�s ABC School House Is First of Four New Schools Added to Eligibility List to Receive Acoustical Treatment

BURBANK, Calif., January 22, 2004 � Construction began this week to sound insulate a local pre-school as part of Bob Hope Airport�s Noise Compatibility Program.

ABC School House, a two-building pre-school located south of the Airport at 4102 and 4104 W. Victory Blvd., will undergo the $60,000 treatment between now and April. The pre-school will receive custom-designed acoustical double windows, solid-core exterior doors, attic insulation, and central heating and air conditioning. The contractor is Lexus Construction of Tarzana.

BOB HOPE AIRPORT AND SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ACCELERATE TIMETABLE FOR ELECTRIFIED GROUND EQUIPMENT

Authority Agrees to Install Chargers; Southwest Agrees to Switch to Electric Equipment Five Years Earlier Than Planned in Bid for Cleaner Air

BURBANK, Calif., January 20, 2004 � The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority today adopted an agreement with Southwest Airlines in which the Authority will install electric charging units at all aircraft gates at Bob Hope Airport by the end of summer, clearing the way for Southwest to convert nearly all of its ground service equipment at the airport from diesel to electric-powered units by 2005.

Southwest carries nearly 70% of the annual passengers at Bob Hope Airport and operates two-thirds of all ground service equipment at the airport.

PUBLIC HEARING SET ON REVISION TO NOISE COMPATIBILITY PROGRAM

Additional Land Use Mitigation Would Reduce Potential for Non-compatible Use Adjacent to Airport

BURBANK, Calif., November 6, 2003 -- There will be a public hearing in the Skyroom of the main terminal building at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Thursday, December 11, 2003, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. to review a proposed revision to the Airport's Noise Compatibility Program.

The revision would add a land use planning measure to the program to enable the retention by the Airport Authority, for noise compatibility purposes, of certain property adjacent to the Airport that was acquired with federal funds.

AIR TRAFFIC BACK TO NORMAL

BURBANK, Calif., October 28, 2003 -- Air traffic control is back to normal today, eliminating the significant delays that occurred Sunday and Monday due to closure of the FAA's Southern California air traffic control facility near San Diego caused by weekend firestorms.

Passengers are still advised to check with their individual airlines for information on specific flights. Website links to all airlines at Burbank Airport are available at the home page of www.burbankairport.com.

Despite numerous delays yesterday, airlines completed nearly all scheduled flights.

SCHEDULED AIRLINE FLIGHTS ACHIEVE 97% COMPLIANCE WITH VOLUNTARY CURFEW

Three Pre-7 A.M. Departures Now Leave the Gate at 6:50 A.M. or Later, Increasing Likelihood of Post-7 A.M. Takeoff; No Airline Departures or Arrivals Scheduled After 10 P.M. with Exception of 5:32 A.M. Cargo Arrival

BURBANK, Calif., October 21, 2003 � Scheduled airline departures and arrivals at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport during the nighttime hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. have reached the lowest level since the 1980s following a series of schedule changes over the summer and fall months.

A report released to the Airport Authority October 20th shows only three airline departures scheduled prior to 7 a.m. -- 6:50 a.m., 6:51 a.m. and 6:55 a.m. The departure time is when the aircraft pushes back from the terminal gate, and in most instances, taxiing to the north end of the airfield requires enough time so that actual lift-off occurs at 7 a.m. or later.

BURBANK, Calif., July 25, 2003 � Lucy Burghdorf, an Airport staff member since 1995, has been named Manager of Community Relations, effective immediately. Executive Director Dios Marrero announced Burghdorf�s promotion at the Special Meeting of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority July 24^th.

BURBANK, Calif., July 7, 2003 � The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority today elected new officers for the coming year, naming Burbank Commissioner Charles Lombardo president, Pasadena Commissioner Chris Holden vice president, and Glendale Commissioner Carl Povilaitis secretary. The Authority elects officers once a year at its first meeting in July.

Skybus Airlines Airbus 319 arrives at Bob Hope Airport during FAA checkout run in early May 2007. The carrier inaugrated nonstop Columbus, OH service May 22nd.
