Bob Hope Airport, Hilton Burbank Airport, Yahoo!, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, US Airways Team Up for Two-Day Campaign in August; Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and Other Valley Hospitals to Receive Donated Blood
Airline Tickets, Hotel Stays Provide Incentives for Airport and Media Studios North Employee Participants
BURBANK, Calif., August 1, 2006 — The Bob Hope Airport, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, US Airways, the Hilton Burbank Airport and Yahoo! have teamed up with the Media Studios North campus for an Airport community effort to host the city’s largest blood drive the first two days of August to benefit Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and two other Valley medical centers: Providence Holy Cross Medical Center of Mission Hills, and Sherman Oaks Hospital and Health Center, the home of Grossman Burn Center. The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 1st and 2nd in the Airport’s Skyroom overlooking the runway.

BURBANK, Calif., July 10, 2006 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Bob Hope Airport, has extended the term of its current officers for a new one-year term. Pasadena Commissioner Chris Holden continues as president. Glendale Commissioner Carl Povilaitis will serve a second term as vice president and Burbank Commissioner Bill Wiggins remains secretary. The Authority elects officers once a year at its first meeting in July.

BURBANK, Calif., June 9, 2006 — Newly released analysis compiled by the City of Burbank shows that an estimated $10.8 million in property taxes on assets based at Bob Hope Airport is paid to the City annually. The property taxes form the core of a wider roster of benefits totaling $22 million flowing either to the City or to Burbank residents.

BURBANK, Calif., June 7, 2006 — The Burbank-Glendale Pasadena Airport Authority has awarded a contract to aviation consultant Leigh Fisher Associates to spearhead the completion of the Airport's federal "Part 161 Study" that is aimed at bringing a nighttime curfew to Bob Hope Airport.

BURBANK, Calif., February 14, 2006 – Bob Hope Airport will return rates for most Airport parking lots to 2002 levels effective Monday, February 20th. The rate change will result in increases for three of the four Economy Lots, but Economy Lot A – the Airport’s largest economy parking area – will remain at the current $7.00 daily maximum in a bid to encourage more patrons to park there and relieve pressure on Lots B, C and D, which tend to fill earlier in peak periods.
