Burbank Bob Hope Airport Offering New Benefits for Loyalty Program Members

BURBANK, Calif., December 9, 2013 – Burbank Bob Hope Airport is pleased to announce that Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points are now offered as a reward earning option for enrolled members of the Airport’s Thanks Again Customer Loyalty program launched in July. Members earn one airline mile or two hotel points per dollar spent when they shop, dine, or park at the Airport.

Airport Authority Votes for Reduced Commercial Development Envelope for B-6 Opportunity Site in Environmental Impact Report Analysis

BURBANK, Calif., December 2, 2013 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Burbank Bob Hope Airport, has voted to submit a Development Application Package to the City of Burbank for a replacement 14-gate terminal and development of the B-6 “Opportunity Site” adjacent to the proposed terminal that would limit the amount of proposed mixed-use commercial and industrial development in the project to 2.35 million square feet. The original proposed concept, based on a 15-year development period, would have considered development up to 3 million square feet.

Airport Announces Size of Proposed 14-Gate Replacement Terminal: 355,000 Sq. Feet

BURBANK, Calif., October 7, 2013 -- Airport staff and consultants informed the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority today that the recommended size of the proposed 14-gate replacement passenger terminal now under discussion in the joint Airport-City of Burbank future of the Airport visioning process is 355,000 sq. feet. Earlier estimates had determined a general range of between 325,000 and 385,000 sq. feet.

Burbank Bob Hope Airport Launches Customer Loyalty Program

BURBANK, Calif., July 26, 2013 — Burbank Bob Hope Airport today launched a customer loyalty program powered by Thanks Again, LLC. Bob Hope Airport is the first airport in California to launch a direct, airport-wide partnership with the Thanks Again program and joins a network of over 170 other airports offering members airline miles or hotel points for their on-airport purchases. Thanks Again will be exclusive to Burbank amongst L.A. Basin Airports for one year.

Airport Authority Commission Elects Burbank Commissioner Susan Georgino as President for the Coming Year

BURBANK, Calif., July 1, 2013 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Bob Hope Airport, has elected new officers to head the Authority Commission for a one year term from July 2013 through June 2014. The Commission elects officers each July.

Airport and City Join to Reach Out to Film Location Scouts

BURBANK, Calif., June 25, 2013—Burbank Bob Hope Airport and the City of Burbank partnered to sponsor a filming open house earlier this month in a bid to attract more location film shoots in the city and at the Airport. Burbank Mayor Emily Gabel-Luddy and Airport Executive Director Dan Feger welcomed over 60 location scouts and managers and for a behind-the-scenes tour, where they were allowed to take photos of the Airport and its surroundings.

Upcoming I-5 Closures May Affect Motorists Traveling to Burbank Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif., May 28, 2013—Travelers driving to Burbank Bob Hope Airport from the north San Fernando Valley in early June may be affected by full closures by Caltrans of the I-5 Freeway north of the I-5/SR-170 interchange the nights of Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 8. Motorists are advised to take these closures into account if they plan on arriving at or departing from the Airport on these dates. Caltrans has designated detours for the closures.

Authority Approves Marketing Agreement With IMG College, LLC

BURBANK, Calif., May 14, 2013 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has approved a marketing agreement with IMG College, LLC that will link the Burbank Bob Hope Airport with UCLA Athletics and designate the Airport as the “Official Airport of the Rose Bowl Stadium.” IMG College is the official marketing representative of UCLA Athletics and the Rose Bowl Operating Company. The Authority approved the execution of a three-year marketing agreement effective May 15, 2013 totaling $309,000. The Authority has an option for one two-year extension after the first three years.

Seaport Airlines Announces Service From El Centro/Imperial, CA to Burbank Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif., April 30, 2013 – Portland, Oregon based SeaPort Airlines will begin service from Imperial County Airport on May 1, 2013, to Burbank Bob Hope Airport. SeaPort will offer 12 nonstop round-trips per week, flying a nine-seat Cessna Caravan aircraft, and will operate from the Airport’s Terminal A.

2013 "Tower Banner Student Art Contest" Winners Announced

BURBANK, Calif., March 4, 2013 – The high school student winners of the Bob Hope Airport "2013 Tower Banner Student Art Contest" from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena Unified School Districts presented their winning artwork at today’s March 4, 2013 Airport Authority meeting. The winners were chosen from 186 entries across all three districts. Joining them were their art teachers and district art coordinators, along with many of the students’ proud parents.

Airport Authority Commission Elects Glendale Commissioner Rafi Manoukian as President

BURBANK, Calif., January 15, 2013 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Bob Hope Airport, has elected new interim officers to head the Authority Commission. The election followed the resignation of former Airport Authority President and Pasadena Commissioner Chris Holden, who assumed office in the State Assembly in December, representing the 41st District.

Airport Authority Retains Firms to Study Multi-Modal Transit Connections to Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif., January 14, 2013 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has voted to approve retaining two firms, AECOM, Inc. and STV, Inc., to conduct studies focusing on improving multi-modal transit connections to and from Burbank Bob Hope Airport and to begin planning for potential land uses in and around the Airport, including the B-6 property, site of the former Lockheed Martin “Skunk Works.”
